A short path from rough draft to a cleaner request. Mac Prompt Rewriter keeps the rewrite explicit and leaves the send action to you.
1. Start with a focused draft
Open a supported ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, or Codex composer, write the request you want to improve, and leave it unsent. Mac Prompt Rewriter works from the focused input you choose.
2. Choose a pass

3. Review before sending
Mac Prompt Rewriter silently replaces the draft only when a complete result returns and the captured destination is still unchanged. Review the replacement in the composer, edit it if needed, then decide when to send it. If you edit during the run, Mac Prompt Rewriter leaves your current text alone and never restores an older copy over it.
Never auto-submit: Mac Prompt Rewriter does not press Return or send the prompt for you.
Write useful guidelines
Open Settings → Rewrite and keep each mode’s instructions editable. State the qualities you want: preserve intent, keep numbers exact, surface missing constraints, or ask for a concise final request.
Keep guidelines general enough to work across drafts. Put task-specific details in the draft itself so the result can preserve them.
Context stays draft-first
The launch scope uses the captured draft without task history. A future contextual mode can use an exact origin only after account-isolation behavior is verified. Mac Prompt Rewriter does not guess a task from a title or recent-chat order.
